We finally made the trip home to Cleveland to visit family–and meet my new baby niece for the first time. The trip was a last-minute decision, so I needed a baby gift quickly. This is what I came up with–made mostly from my stash and scraps. It took me less than two days to piece, free-motion and bind. The whole thing is very simple–it’s just one giant log cabin block–but the fabrics are cute, colorful and will give the baby something to look at.
The unicorn in the center is fussy cut from Heather Ross’ Far Far Away double gauze. The back is pink striped flannel and the finished size is about 40″ x 40.” The free-motion quilting was fun, simple and really quick.
Of course, because I was in a hurry I didn’t get a label attached–or most importantly–a picture of my sweet niece with the quilt!
